Fr. Michael Osatofoh Eninlejie, MSP - Homily for Monday Week 31 Ordinary time - November 16, 2020

MONDAY 33RD WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II

Apocalypse 1:1-4,2:1-5, Matthew 18:35-43

REPENT NOW

As Christians, we must learn to grow daily in our Christian journey and our love for God and our neighbours. In the first reading of today, we see the message of St John to the 7 churches around Asia.

Many of us Christians started very well and have been trying to the best of our ability; nevertheless, some of us may start getting tired and may start compromising little things of the faith that matters. John made a complaint about the Christians around Asia, that they had less love than they had before.

The situations around us should not make us to dwindle in our faith, we should not get discouraged when things do not go the way we plan. We should remain steadfast in our faith so that the light of God will not be removed from our sight.

The blind man in the gospel reading of today, was not discouraged to pray and seek God. Only our constant love of God and neighbour can rekindle our hope in him. God help us. Amen.
