Fr. Michael Osatofoh Eninlejie, MSP - Homily for Saturday Week 26 Ordinary time - October 3, 2020

SATURDAY 26TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME

Job 42:1-3,5-6,12-17, Luke 10:17-24

HOLD ON TO GOD IN TIMES OF TROUBLE

Today we read from the last chapter of the book of Job. We see a happy ending to the sacrifices and faith Job had in God. No one can expect that Job will still remain faithful to God amidst all the ills that befell him. Job knew that no matter what the situation is at the moment, God had better plans for him, plans of good and not of evil.

Some turbulent moments we sometimes pass through in life, are ways God wants to prepare us for what lie ahead of us. Since Job remained faithful to God, God blessed him beyond measure, all that he had earlier lost was returned to him in full measure, much more and even better than what he had before.

If we remain faithful to God, he will surely make sure that we are blessed, and our happiness restored. God help us. Amen.
