Fr. Michael Osatofoh Eninlejie, MSP - Homily for Friday Week 31 Ordinary time - November 13, 2020

FRIDAY 22ND WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II 2 John 1:4-9, Luke 17:26-37 THE END IS NOW Whenever we talk about the day of judgement or the second coming of Christ, many of us think that the day will come when we will get old, then Jesus will come and the rapture will take place. Many people who have died had also thought that way too, and thus, may not have adequately prepared for their death. In the gospel reading of today, Jesus makes us to understand that no one knows the exact day that will be the end. The day you die is your judgement day and rapture. As Jesus illustrates in the gospel reading, two people may be standing together and the other die, 2 people can sleep on the same bed and the other dies in the morning. We can never tell where and when our own death will come. Let us therefore always be ready so that we will rejoice when we are taken away from those around us. God help us. Amen.
