Fr. Michael Osatofoh Eninlejie, MSP - Homily for Wednesday Week 34 Ordinary time - November 25, 2020

WEDNESDAY 34TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II

Revelation 15:1-4

Luke 21:12-19

BE STRONG IN TRIBULATION

Luke for some time now, have been telling us to prepare for the day and hour which will be our last here on earth. He has told us about the vanity of the things of the world and the need for us to detach ourselves from them. The beautiful city of Jerusalem and the temple will be no more, and we will see the things we hold so dear crumble before us. The troubling thing about this is that no one knows the day or the hour. We therefore need to be ready always. To be ready is not an easy task; Jesus tells us in the gospel reading of today to be ready to be persecuted and hated by those who want us to do their will instead of that of God. We should not get tired of doing what is right, our endurance will win us our lives when he comes. No human being can imagine what heaven looks like; it will surely be worth any suffering we can imagine. May almighty God grant us the grace to be steadfast in faith. God help us. Amen.
