Fr. Michael Osatofoh Eninlejie, MSP - Homily for Wednesday Week 31 Ordinary time - November 18, 2020

WEDNESDAY 33RD WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II

Apocalypse 4:1-11, Luke 19:11-28

NO NEED TO BE AFRAID

For some time now, we have been reading from the book of revelation, and the images and tune in which the writer describes the last day and the throne of judgement is very scary. Many of us ask ourselves if we will be spared on that day.

The gospel reading of today which is very  related to that of the immediate past Sunday tells us that our life here on earth is like one doing a business. God has entrusted so much to us all and he expects us to bear fruits in our lives. Those who have brought forth fruits with their lives and have something to show to the master when he comes, have no need to be afraid.

Let us trade well with our lives today, and the master will be happy with us when we stand before the throne of judgement. God help us. Amen.
